Karwa Chauth Puja and Aarti Methods
Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival celebrated by married women for the long life and well-being of their husbands. The festival falls on the fourth day after the full moon in the Hindu month of Kartik. On this day, women observe a day-long fast and break it only after sighting the moon and performing the Karwa Chauth Puja and Aarti. Here are the steps to perform the Puja and Aarti:
Karwa Chauth Puja Method
- Take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- Arrange all the necessary items for the Puja, including a Karwa (a small earthen pot), a thali (a plate), a sieve, a diya (a lamp), some flowers, and some sweets.
- Place the Karwa on the thali and fill it with water. Add some flowers and sweets to it.
- Light the diya and place it on the thali.
- Take some rice in your hand and offer it to the Karwa while reciting the Karwa Chauth mantra.
- Offer some flowers and sweets to the Karwa.
- Now, offer the Karwa to the moon while reciting the Karwa Chauth mantra.
- After offering the Karwa to the moon, offer some water to the moon while reciting the Chandra Darshan mantra.
- Finally, offer some sweets to your husband and break your fast.
Karwa Chauth Aarti Method
- Light the diya and place it on the thali.
- Take some flowers in your hand and offer them to the moon while reciting the Chandra Darshan mantra.
- Now, offer the thali to the moon while reciting the Karwa Chauth Aarti.
- After completing the Aarti, offer some sweets to your husband and break your fast.
