Many, many greetings and Khamma Ghani sa to everyone on Navratri, the holy festival of Mata Rani.
Every wish has its own link (for example #wish-17), so a shared link opens the exact wish. Spellings follow common Marwari usage; your family may write a word a little differently, and that is fine.
The same greeting can sound loving or too casual depending on who reads it. Here is a quick guide.
Use the respectful आप forms and end with "sa".
The warm थारे forms sound close and affectionate.
Wishes that greet everyone at once.
When the kalash is set up and the jyot is lit.
Short and lively, good for a status.
For Kanya Pujan and the last nights.

In Rajasthan, Navratri begins as it does across north India, with Ghatasthapana: a kalash is set up, जवारा (barley) is sown in a clay bowl and an akhand jyot is lit for the nine days. Families visit the temple of their kuldevi, keep fasts, sing bhajans of Mata Rani at night jagrans and feed young girls on Ashtami or Navami. Greetings are exchanged in the family's own tongue, which is why a wish in Rajasthani lands so much warmer than one in standard Hindi.
The goddess of the Kachhwaha rulers, inside Amer Fort. The temple is at its busiest during the Navratri fair, when devotees climb up to the fort for darshan.
The temple of Karni Mata, a form of Durga, known for the thousands of kabas (rats) that live in it. Fairs are held during both Navratris each year.
Navratri leads into Kota's Dussehra fair, one of the largest in India, with tall Ravana effigies, a long fair and cultural evenings.
Southern Rajasthan shares its border and its music with Gujarat, so neighbourhood Garba and Dandiya nights are a big part of Navratri here.

The most common forms are "नवरात्रा री घणी-घणी बधायां" (Navratra ri ghani-ghani badhayan, many many Navratri greetings), "शुभ नवरात्रा" (Shubh Navratra) and "नवरात्रा री राम-राम सा" (Navratra ri Ram-Ram sa). For elders, add Khamma Ghani: "नवरात्रा री खम्मा घणी सा".
Khamma Ghani is Rajasthan's respectful greeting, used when meeting elders, guests and people you want to honour. It is often explained as wishing someone much well-being, and it is answered with "Khamma Ghani sa" or "Ghani Khamma". In these wishes it works as "warm, respectful greetings".
Marwari is the most widely spoken variety of Rajasthani. Other varieties include Mewari around Udaipur, Dhundhari around Jaipur, Hadoti around Kota and Shekhawati. These 26 wishes use common Marwari-leaning forms such as थारो, री and घणी that are understood across the state; spellings vary from region to region.
Choose the wishes that use the respectful आप, आपरे or आपणे and end with "sa": numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 16, 19 and 26. Wishes with थारे or थारो are warm and familiar, better for friends, siblings and younger relatives.
Sharad Navratri 2026 begins with Ghatasthapana on Sunday 11 October; the muhurat in New Delhi is 6:19 to 10:12 AM. Durga Ashtami and Maha Navami fall on Monday 19 October in India, and Dussehra (Vijayadashami) is on Tuesday 20 October.
