Til–Gud Ladoo recipe

Ingredients
  • 1½ cups sesame seeds (til), lightly roasted
  • 1 cup jaggery (gud), chopped
  • ½ cup grated dry coconut
  • ¼ tsp green cardamom powder

Optional ingredients for added flavor include a spoonful of ghee, chopped peanuts, or a sprinkle of dry ginger powder (saunth) for extra warmth.

Directions
  1. Roast til on low flame until fragrant (do not burn). Cool completely.
  2. Coarsely grind sesame and jaggery together using a mixer or mortar & pestle.
  3. Place on a plate. Sprinkle with coconut and cardamom powder. Stir thoroughly.
  4. Divide evenly and shape into lemon-sized balls by pressing firmly.
  5. Keep in a sealed container and consume within 1-2 weeks.
Shortcut: If the mixture doesn't stick together, heat it gently for 10-15 seconds in a skillet on low heat, then shape it swiftly.
