DIY garbi pot
- Choose a small unglazed or painted earthen pot with a stable base.
- If creating cutouts/holes, have an adult use appropriate tools; children can decorate rather than drill.
- Paint with water-based colors and add mirror-style stickers or safe craft pieces.
- Place a battery tea light for a child project, or use a real diya only with adult supervision and a heat-safe setup.
- Display it at the family altar or craft table.
Why the pot matters
The garbi/garbha pot and inner light are often linked with the womb, creation and divine energy at the center of the Garba circle. Craft activities are more meaningful when children learn the symbol as well as the decoration.
