Before a long Garba night
- Eat a balanced meal or vrat meal well before dancing.
- Hydrate before the event and use venue water breaks.
- Warm calves, ankles, hips and shoulders rather than stretching aggressively when cold.
- Trim nails and secure jewelry that could snag.
- Carry blister care and a backup pair of socks or footwear if the venue allows shoes.
Footwear choices
Some events are barefoot; others permit juttis, sneakers or dance shoes. The best option depends on the floor. A hard sole on a slick polished surface can be worse than a supportive athletic shoe on a modern venue floor. Follow venue rules and prioritize secure fit over aesthetics.
Pacing
Treat the night like interval activity: dance several songs, recover, hydrate and return. Fatigue increases the risk of collisions and poor stick control.
